Crepe Hair is also used for concealing the edges of a fake beard or for creating stubble effect. For curly hair simply unravel. For straight hair, unravel, soak in hot water, then drain, hanging it from the top while weighting the bottom, until completely dry. Apply straight to the skin with spirit gum, cutting short lengths, and spread each one overlapping one on top of the other, from the bottom up. Secure each row with more spirit gum if required, allowing each layer of spirit gum to dry slightly until tacky. Trim hair once dry. Latex can be used to create a mustache or beard in the same way, with the advantage that the piece can be made in advance, and glued on with spirit gum when needed. Use a hair dryer to speed up drying of the latex.
